Arctic Discoveries
An arctic explorer makes a fascinating discovery!
Some early tests had me trying to get an actual reflection off of the glass of the binoculars, but render times skyrocketed (and I hadn't added any of the hair particles yet!), so the final image is a combination of two linked Blender scenes composited together in Blender.
I've learned so many little things along the way (Detail modeling on the binoculars, tiger/penguin/eagle anatomy, composition, and compositing...), and I've enjoyed every single bit of it!

Putting my new hard surface knowledge to use, finally.
The Griffin model. Not that great in my opinion, but it got the job done.
I used Gaea (A terrain generator) to build the Background mountains.

The final in black and white looks pretty awesome as well.
